Wearingeul Fountain Pen Ink - Salome (Oscar Wilde)

Wearingeul

Founded in South Korea in 2016 by calligrapher Ahn Dong Hyuk, Wearingeul turns novels, poems and myths into ink, with each colour built around a single story.

Salome takes its cue from Oscar Wilde’s one-act tragedy. It goes down as a deep, wintry slate blue, and as it dries a violet tone works its way through the strokes, so one page carries both moods at once. It’s lovely in a fountain pen for letters and journaling, and just as happy in a glass or dip pen for lettering and swatching. Smoother, coated papers give the shading the most room to show.

Every line dries a little differently, which is half the pleasure.
