The Moomins came from the pen of Tove Jansson, the Finnish artist and author who first sent them out into the world in 1945. Moominvalley has been a place readers return to ever since — gentle, funny, and quietly wise about how to live. This is the second year of Hobonichi's Moomin collaboration.
Snufkin here is woven rather than printed, built into the fine weave of a necktie fabric. Against a deep green ground he goes freely about his day, with a stretch of it spent in Moomintroll's company. The decoration on his hat is picked out in bronze metallic thread, so the cover catches the light a little as it moves.
The Weeks is the slim one: a week across the left page, a grid page on the right, and a light hardcover with enough give to bend into a coat pocket or a small bag.
