2027 Hobonichi COVER A5: Yoshie Watanabe - Petit Bloom

Hobonichi

Yoshie Watanabe is a Japanese art director and the designer behind the paper goods brand D-BROS, and a co-founder of the studio KIGI. Her work is precise and softly graphic, with a light touch that carries beautifully onto paper. For 2027 she brings two lines to the Hobonichi range: Petit Bloom and Dotted Plaid.

Petit Bloom scatters small flowers across a deep navy, each one with an expression of its own. They’re woven into the fabric rather than printed onto it, which gives the cover its elegant, faintly raised texture. A single red line runs down the spine, and the velour-like ribbon bookmarks in red and blue pick that red up again — navy, small flowers and one bright line is the whole scheme, and it’s enough.

A compact, snug-fitting cover sized for the A5 Cousin: it holds close to the book rather than adding bulk. The pen hook is designed to hold a pen by its clip.
