Natal Design is a Tokyo brand with roots in outdoor and casual wear, known for Okayama denim and for reworking classic silhouettes with a bit of humour. This is their first collaboration with Hobonichi.
Retro Stripe runs three colours in bands across the cover, cut from 1000D nylon — the heavy, stain-resistant kind used for bags that get thrown around. Because each cover is cut from a single length of fabric, the stripes land differently on every one, so yours won’t sit quite like anyone else’s. The name tag and snap buttons are left visible and doing their job, which is most of the charm.
Sized for the A5 techo, the biggest book in the lineup and the one that most benefits from a cover built like luggage. Inside is a bordeaux PU lining, a warm red against all that nylon. The tri-fold stays shut with a button and has an interior pen hook that holds a pen by its clip.
