WE ARE HAVING A CALLIGRAPHY OPEN HOUSE!
We are honoured and excited to welcome Paul Antonio Scribe to Toronto on May 18-20 for a 2 day workshop detailing his new technique for learning and perfecting Copperplate Calligraphy. In anticipation of his visit we are bringing in a selection of popular calligraphy supplies to try out, including nibs, inks and papers.
From 1:00 - 5:00 pm Paul will be on hand to answer your pressing questions on calligraphy and lettering. Feel free to ask about his favourite pens, tools and supplies, about tips and tricks for beginners, about troubleshooting or inspiration. It's an informal open session to engage in some dialogue with a lettering master.
From 6:00 - 7:30 pm, join us for a fascinating lecture on the History of the Alphabet spanning 2500 years after which Paul is available for questions and discussion.
ABOUT PAUL:
Paul trained as a Scribe and Heraldic Artist and went on to study Archaeological Illustration with a specialism in Ancient Writing Systems. His illustrative works on Egyptian Hieroglyphs are housed in the Metropolitan Museum, NYC. Heralded by some as one of the world’s top calligraphers, his clients range from Tiffany & Co, with whom he has worked for 20 years, to fashion royalty, such as Kate Moss, to actual royalty from working as a Crown Office Scribe for the past 18 years.
