Tomoe River, the legendary fountain pen paper first produced by Tomoegawa Paper Mill, was discontinued in 2021 due to a change in company direction. To ensure its continuation, production was entrusted to Sanzen Paper, a manufacturer in Kanazawa, Japan. After several trial runs and careful refinement, Sanzen Paper successfully developed a version of Tomoe River that rivals the beloved original in both texture and ink performance, beginning full production in February 2022.
This 52gsm paper is remarkably thin yet strong, making it ideal for fountain pen users who enjoy shading, sheen, and smooth ink flow. It is also compatible with inkjet and laser printing, as well as erasable Frixion pens.
