The primrose that blooms in the Rokko alpine botanical garden near the summit of Rokko is so named because it resembles the nine rings of a Buddhist pagoda. Around mid-May, when the cherry blossoms are at their best, the sight of about 5,000 of them turning pink is loved by the citizens of Kobe as part of the early summer scenery.
The vivid and cute appearance of the primrose in full bloom is expressed in calm and gorgeous pink.
