2027 Hobonichi Accessories: Moomin - Ink-Absorbing Paper

Hobonichi

The Moomins came from the pen of Tove Jansson, the Finnish artist and author who first sent them out into the world in 1945. Moominvalley has been a place readers return to ever since — gentle, funny, and quietly wise about how to live. This is the second year of Hobonichi's Moomin collaboration.

The front carries an illustration from the novel Moominsummer Madness, with a line of Finnish printed beneath it: "Write as much as you like." Letterpress printing gives each card a pleasing texture, and small variations in ink coverage mean no two come out quite the same.

The paper is highly absorbent and quick-drying, made to take up the excess ink a fountain pen leaves behind before it has a chance to transfer.
