2027 Hobonichi A6 HON: V&A Series - Vine

Hobonichi

A collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the world’s largest museum of applied and decorative arts. Drawing on a collection spanning five thousand years, these designs bring the museum’s textiles, patterns and treasures onto paper and cloth.

The cover carries Vine, designed in 1873 and held in the museum’s collection — ripe clusters of grapes entwined with lush, curling leaves, drawn by William Morris and his circle. It is a pattern that reads as calm from across a room and as busy as a hedgerow up close.

HON is Hobonichi’s bound book — the cover and the pages are one piece, so there is no separate cover to buy and nothing to slip on. This is the compact A6, small enough to carry every day, and the hardcover is light with a little give, so it still bends. A good size for keeping close: on a desk, in a bag, open at the page you left it on.
