Kyo No Oto Ink - Usugumo 40 ml Bottle

Takeda Jimuki

The Kyo No Oto Inks from Japan are water-based fountain pen inks which are crafted into perfection. These inks are made using traditional Japanese dying techniques that date back to the Heian Era, over a 1,000 years ago. These beautiful inks give every user a pleasurable writing experience.

Usugumo means "thin clouds" - hazy, looking like a veil in the high sky. No clear shape or blurry outline of clouds. Usugumo is also name of the 19th volume of the 54 chapters of The Tale of Genji written by Murasaki Shikibu, the oldest love story novel in Japan. It refers to a scene when a man thinks those thin clouds express the sorrow at the loss of love one.
