The RO-BIKI NOTE features a waxed paper cover that develops character the more you use it. Over time, the surface takes on subtle tanning and light scratches, creating a naturally worn, vintage-like appearance. This Texture Series explores the expressive qualities of paper itself, with embossed patterns pressed into the cover and nuanced tints drawn from carefully controlled raw materials. The waxing process deepens these textures and creates areas of contrast and slight transparency that shift depending on how the light hits the surface.
Inside, the notebook is filled with Solisto paper, compatible with pencils, ballpoint pens, fountain pens, and dip pens. The thread binding, reinforced with glue, allows the book to open fully and fold back 360° without pages loosening over time.
Edo Tea was a popular brown during the Edo period (1603–1867), often described as “Edo’s favorite brown.” The name distinguished it from the colours associated with Kyoto, which was the capital at the time. It was frequently used for kosode garments, giving the shade a quiet historical presence that still feels grounded today.
