The Moomins came from the pen of Tove Jansson, the Finnish artist and author who first sent them out into the world in 1945. Moominvalley has been a place readers return to ever since — gentle, funny, and quietly wise about how to live. This is the second year of Hobonichi's Moomin collaboration.
This cover draws on Moominsummer Madness: Emma the stage rat arriving in front of the Moomin family, Misabel and Whomper as they gather round the dinner table. Little My has taken herself off to the back cover, sitting happily inside a sewing basket. The whole scene is drawn in greige line on a pale pink ground — soft enough to live on a desk, detailed enough to keep finding things in.
The Weeks is the slim one: a week across the left page, a grid page on the right, and a light hardcover with enough give to bend into a coat pocket or a small bag.
