A collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the world’s largest museum of applied and decorative arts. Drawing on a collection spanning five thousand years, these designs bring the museum’s textiles, patterns and treasures onto paper and cloth.
William Morris designed Strawberry Thief in 1883, after the thrushes that kept stealing fruit from his kitchen garden. The V&A holds the printed textile, and here it comes onto an A6 techo cover — birds and berries turning through Morris’s dense, patient repeat, exactly as he drew it. Look for a while and the pattern starts to move.
The wider collaboration draws on the museum’s unparalleled collections for designs by Morris and the circle of makers who worked alongside him.
