Known for its ultra-lightweight 52 gsm construction, Tomoe River paper is beloved for its exceptional writing performance—especially with fountain pens, where ink shading and sheen truly shine.

Despite its delicate feel, the paper is remarkably durable and smooth, offering minimal feathering and excellent dry times across pen types. Its soft texture also makes notebooks easier to open and write in, a quality that gained global recognition when it was used in the Hobonichi Techo planner.
