Zebra DelGuard 0.5 Mechanical Pencil - Square Violet

The DelGuard is one of those mechanical pencils that makes you wonder why all mechanical pencils don't work this way. Zebra engineered it with a dual-spring mechanism that responds to both the angle and pressure of your writing: when heavy vertical pressure is applied, an internal spring retracts the lead upward to prevent breakage; when the pencil is held at a steep angle, a metal sleeve at the tip automatically extends to wrap and protect the lead. The two systems work together automatically, adjusting to whatever force is applied. A separate internal guide component also prevents short lead pieces from jamming, so the pencil keeps writing even as the lead gets shorter.
