Yamamoto Paper CANOPUS Note

Yamamoto Paper

Yamamoto Paper, founded in Osaka in 1972, is dedicated to celebrating the beauty of paper itself. Known for their thoughtful curation and archival spirit, they create notebooks and writing pads that highlight unique textures, finishes, and ink-friendly qualities. Beloved by fountain pen users and paper enthusiasts alike, their products turn everyday writing into a tactile, joyful experience.

The CANOPUS NOTE is built around a newly developed paper, Canopus, created after years of research following the discontinuation of the beloved Cosmo Air Light. This paper offers a softly smooth writing feel, excellent shading and sheening for fountain pen inks, and a luminous brightness that makes colors come alive. Named after the star Canopus — a rare and radiant light said to symbolize peace and longevity — this notebook embodies the wish for calm, creative moments through writing.

Hardcover notebook with 176 plain pages, includes a paper writing guide (12mm ruled / 6mm grid). Features Canopus paper (73g/㎡), thread-sewn binding for durability and lay-flat opening, crisp spine pressing, and rounded corners to protect against wear. Despite its generous volume, the notebook remains lightweight thanks to the unique properties of Canopus paper.

As with other highly ink-receptive papers, oils from the skin may cause ink to repel. It is recommended to place a sheet of paper or tissue under your hand while writing.
