Tombow, founded in 1913 in Japan, is celebrated for its thoughtful blend of function and design. Known worldwide for iconic stationery like the MONO eraser and Dual Brush Pens, Tombow creates tools that inspire precision, creativity, and everyday ease. Each item is crafted with care to balance practical performance with elegant simplicity.
Tombow has been making pencils in Japan since 1913, and the Ki-Monogatari series reflects the same care for materials that has defined the brand from the beginning. Ki-Monogatari translates to "wood story" in Japanese, and the name suits it well. The barrel is incense cedar, PEFC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests, finished with a clear coat that lets the natural grain show through rather than covering it up. No two pencils are identical.
A hexagonal barrel approximately 7mm in diameter gives it the feel of a traditional wooden pencil. It's light at 6g, reliable as a daily writing tool, and available in six colours: Natural, White, Nemophila Blue, Leaf Green, Forest Green, and Lilac Pink. Metal components throughout, 0.5mm lead, compatible with Tombow 0.5mm refills.
Note: As the barrel is made from natural wood, each pencil will have its own grain and texture. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat, humidity, or direct sunlight.
