Dalupalringi (Big Ghost Lake) is part of Shuang-guei Lake—Two Ghost Lake—a pair of sacred alpine lakes deeply significant to the Rukai people. These remote waters lie high in the Central Mountain Range, rarely reached except by those undertaking a long, demanding journey on foot. Believed to be the dwelling places of ancestral spirits, the lakes are held with reverence, protected by both their distance and the surrounding forests.

The colour draws from the cool, shifting tones of the lake’s water, capturing the blue that deepens toward its 67-meter depth during the wet season. On the page, it settles into a soft, serene blue with gentle shading, reminiscent of high-altitude mist and quiet reflections over still water.
