Ateliers Pénélope Air Pouch
Ateliers Pénélope has been making bags and accessories from No. 10 canvas at their Nakameguro atelier since 1996, dyeing domestic cotton in original colours and finishing it with a paraffin treatment that gives the fabric both structure and character.
The Air Pouch takes its name from its shape, a rounded, balloon-like form that opens up generously and holds more than it looks like it should. It is an ideal size for pens, pencils, and the small tools that accumulate around a writing practice, but works just as well for cosmetics, small gadgets, or anything else that needs corralling. Small loops on both sides allow it to hang from a hook at your desk or inside a bag, keeping everything within reach without the clutter. It travels well too, holding its shape without crushing what's inside.
The paraffin-waxed canvas is firm to the touch and develops a subtle patina with use.
