Join us for this online introductory workshop on Pointed pen calligraphy. In this  workshop you will learn how to use the tools as well as learn the basics of pointed pen scripts. We will start with learning how to prepare and use a pointed pen (commonly known as a nib). We will talk about the design of an oblique holder as well as when and how to use one.

You will also learn about the different types of lettering one can produce with a pointed flexible pen from Modern Calligraphy, to flowing Spencerian, to the strictly regimented Engrosser's script.

At the end of the workshop you will not only be able to use the tools but also differentiate among the various pointed pen scripts. You will also know what goes into producing them. We will spend time learning the basics of each of the pointed pen scripts so you can get a feel for them.

This is a great workshop for beginners as well as brush calligraphers looking to get into pointed pen calligraphy.
