WORKSHOP DETAILSDate: Saturday, April 18th – (2:00-5:00pm)
Do you know how to rest?
We live in busy times, where it has more and more difficult to unplug from the hustle and bustle around us. Being able to quiet your mind is an important technique to learn so that you can fully rejuvenate and return to the fast-paced world around you, feeling rested rather than frazzled. There are many different meditative practices to help you with this. Art journaling is but one of these practices. This workshop is designed to introduce you to the practice of art journaling, which simply put, is art in a book.
Art journaling is a combination of writing and visual arts to create finished pages. An art journal is a book often kept by artists as a visual and sometimes verbal record of their thoughts or ideas. Art journals are also used in art therapy as a tool for self-discovery and unburdening.
Who should attend?
This workshop is good for the beginner and the seasoned artist. No artistic experience is needed to art journal because there’s no wrong or right way to do it. Keesha will demonstrate techniques and give you prompts to get you started.
All materials supplied. Each participant will receive a bag of goodies, including a journal to use and take home with them. Studio materials include paint, brushes, collage papers, glue, scissors, stamps, washi tape and more.
