Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm
During this three hour beginners workshop we'll get down to basics. We'll focus on how to safely wield the tools, learn key techniques, and how navigate the creative process. We'll learn how to use negative and positive space to compose and carve our stamps. Then we'll ink them up, and lay them down to create our very own gift wrap and greeting cards. My goal as a teacher is to inspire and empower you with all the know-how needed to take future print projects from start to finish. Come create some holiday cheer and discover the joy of D.I.Y. printmaking!
This is a great introductory workshop for those wishing to explore printmaking in a fun and welcoming space, no experience or drawing skills required. The workshop is limited to 10-12 people. Each participant will receive five greeting cards + envelopes, a roll of craft gift wrap, and their own set of hand-carved stamps. All materials and tools are provided during the workshop.
I am a Toronto multidisciplinary artist, freelance illustrator and muralist. I recently returned to Canada after living seven years abroad. During this time I traveled, studied, painted murals and taught. Exploration is at the heart of both my art and teaching practice. Everything I learn I strive to share. This deepens my understanding while helping others get there faster. My current illustration series, The Joys Series, celebrates the small things that bring us joy, and explores how self-reflecting and creating can nourish, empower and connect us to one another. As an educator I design my workshops to engage, cultivate new skills, techniques and knowledge, while making room for play, exploration and new discoveries!
